Listen loser….you don’t realize what has happened to most of the entertainers…even “whacked” out on whatever….the Elvis will rule as one of the greatest forever…
Doing the right thing is never fashionable, you just do it because it’s RIGHT. It was proven he had drugs in his system and he was constantly taking them before it was even discovered.
Listen, I understand he’s a legend, and I recognize that. But just because he was the greatest single artist that ever lived and died it doesn’t mean everything he has done is golden.
@vaughn2sexy4uyo but nobody was really in rehabs in those days it wasn’t fashionable! Beside Elvis and his mother had very weak hearts! Elvis had had several heartattacks in the early 70s! Precription pills had nothing to do with Elvis death! The man was actually playing the piano and singing before went to the bathroom and passed away! The witnesses there said that the pills in the bathroom were left untouched!!! It’s easy to destroy a deadman’s reputation that can’t defend himself!
@vaughn2sexy4uyo I say walk a mile in Elvis shoes!! Elvis downfall began in the US army just to let you know my man! That were they got him hooked on the shit! Pre-Army Elvis was 100% Clean. John Lennon knew this for fact! Elvis died in The Army! Elvis Downfall was in the Army when the establishment saw Elvis as a threat!! Elvis got hooked on prescription pills in the godamned US Army that’s where they gave him all those pills and in those days the dangers of those meds weren’t as recognized!
Just because you’re a rock star it doesn’t mean you were forced to do drugs. He had a choice, he was one of the most powerful men in the universe. As a rock star, any person can try to make their way to the top, it doesn’t have to be from him. As a person? No. He had social and drug dependence, he succumbed to it, and that’s what led to his downfall. You say we should follow that?
@vaughn2sexy4uyo yeah so Elvis had a problem with prescriptions meds dumped on him by his doctor he had health issues a very demanding life style so what?! Go n live in Elvis shoes for a while and then you can tell the world from first hand that he’s not a good enough role model to follow!
I see you’re a guy that takes things out of context.
illiniman06 said he is a role model we should all follow. I never said his drug addiction was a big deal. I never said we should all follow a perfectionist. I just simply said he’s a great man, but the drug addiction was a drawback. That’s just my opinion. I think he’s the perfect man to idolize, but not the right one to follow.
@vaughn2sexy4uyo what do you want perfection?! If Elvis had been all perfect like the biblical Christ he would have been an unrealistic role model to follow!
Ppl simply want to make a big deal out Elvis need for prescription pills and set unrealistic expectation on a man that had problems and difficulties like everyone one of us! Then make michael jackson your role model he sought after perfection!

15. January 2010 at 12:45 am

15. January 2010 at 2:59 am
and he had the money to stop. He had the money for rehab, for withdrawal. Forgot about that?

That’s Elvis true nature all else is manipulation to get ego into him!
15. January 2010 at 5:20 am
I met Elvis in 1974. My dad did some work for him. One of his tour trucks. I never met a more gracious man. No matter what else, he was humble.
15. January 2010 at 6:15 am
That’s why I said it’s okay to idolize this man idiot. There’s nothing wrong with that. But to follow him as a role model is a different story.
15. January 2010 at 6:27 am
@vaughn2sexy4uyo well your logic is so un-natural people are likely to emulate those they idolize!
