Big Changes Coming for USS Arizona Memorial Ticketing
Coming soon, visitors will be able to book USS Arizona Memorial tickets in advance. This change could significantly reduce visitor wait times and help you make the most of your Oahu vacation time. Tickets will still be available on a first come, first served basis for walk-in visitors. In this KHON report , Eileen Martinez, Chief of Interpretation for the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, says that 50% of tickets will be available for walk-in visitors. Though tickets will continue to be free to all visitors, a fee of $1.50 per ticket

Neil Abercrombie was sworn in yesterday as the seventh governor of Hawaii in an emotional and eclectic inauguration at Iolani Palace where he pledged to restore confidence in state government. Brian Schatz are from different generations and are at opposite stages of their political careers. Star-Advertiser. After 35 years in public service at the state Capitol, Honolulu's city council and the U.S. Congress, Gov. Neil Abercrombie now begins the job he swears will be his last. Hawaii News Now. Hawaii's new governor took office at almost precisely noon Monday, during an inauguration steeped in tradition and ceremony. KITV4. Today is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day and the 69th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. To honor the day, I’m sharing photos of the somber wall of names listing those who died on the USS Arizona that fateful day on December 7, 1941. This wall of names is located on the far end of the USS Arizona Memorial in an open room of its own. To walk towards that massive wall and see the volume of names carved in marble is shocking. I think it’s human nature to feel detached from history, but when you see these names, history is humanized. I’ve visited this memorial several times. On each occasion I’ve noticed other visitors take their whispers to silence as they stare at the memorial while absorbing its meaning. When you visit Oahu, I highly recommend you take the time to go see the USS Arizona Memorial where every day is a day to remember Pearl Harbor. We’re on facebook!
